Worship Ministry is a community of worshipers who desire to authentically and passionately lead the NMC congregation through the use of various musical gifts and abilities. This team serves NMC through leading worship in both our venues: the Worship Center and Connection.  
   
What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Serve on the team when scheduled – once or twice a month  
• Use Dropbox to listen and learn your week’s music and view chord charts  
• Team members learn music on their own (by ear) and come into rehearsals prepared to play or sing their specific parts  
• Replicate written parts before creating new parts  
• Attend one yearly training event and other optional team gatherings (cookouts, trainings, worship nights)    

Serving Times:  
• Serving times vary based on when you're scheduled  
• Worship Center: rehearsal on Wednesdays 7:30-9:00 PM and Sundays 7:10-7:45 AM; Worship services on Sundays, 8:00, 9:30, 11:00 AM  
• Connection: rehearsal on Wednesdays 8:00-9:30 PM and Sundays 7:45-8:45 AM; Worship Services on Sundays, 9:30 & 11:00 AM  
 
Requirements:  
• Have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ  
• Meet with the NMC Worship staff for an interview and audition  
• Have regularly attended NMC for at least six months  
• Have musical ability and a heart to lead others in worship

Opportunities to Serve in Food Service: 

• Table Talk Volunteer (help host the weekly meal before Wednesday night programming August - May)

• Help with spring and fall “chores” for those who are unable (cleaning yards, windows, weeding, etc.)

Care Ministry exists to empathize with and care for those who are facing challenges. Our mission is to come alongside those who are hurting to listen, pray, and encourage them whenever, wherever, and however possible. We believe this is what the Lord has called His Church to do.

• Help with oil changes or easy car repairs for those who are unable

Requirements: Able to change the oil in a vehicle

Care Ministry exists to empathize with and care for those who are facing challenges. Our mission is to come alongside those who are hurting to listen, pray, and encourage them whenever, wherever, and however possible. We believe this is what the Lord has called His Church to do.
   
What are the basic responsibilities? 

• Contact and visit widows/widowers on a monthly basis 
• Listen and encourage those who've lost a spouse while showing the love of Jesus

• Encourage NMC missionaries by sending emails/cards and praying for them

Do you like to work behind-the-scenes to help others engage in corporate worship and make God's Word accessible to others?

Whether you're interested in audio, video, lighting, projection, computers or technology in general, you're invited to come worship with us through tech ministry.

There's a wide-range of opportunities and training available for every age, interest, and skill level on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. 

Coffee Break is a Bible study for women on Tuesdays during the school year. Ladies come together for fellowship, worship, video teachings, and breakout sessions in small groups to grow as a disciples of Jesus.

Opportunities to Serve in Coffee Break:

• Greeter Team (decorate the welcome table and greet women with warmth)
• Hospitality Team (make coffee, arrange food on tables, and clean up after)
• Small Group Leader (lead or co-lead a small group during Coffee Break)
• Tech Operator (provide audio/video tech support - training is provided)
• Leadership Team

Oasis Cafe is a Wednesday night Bible study for women during regular programming (August - May). Ladies work through a topical study together, connect with others, and share in fellowship and studying the Word.

Opportunities to Serve in Oasis:

• Greeter Team (welcome women with warmth and help them find a seat)
• Hospitality Team (coordinate snacks) 
• Decorations Team (help set up and put away decorations)
• Table Leader (lead or co-lead a small group during Oasis)
• Tech Operator (provide audio/video tech support - training is provided)
• Leadership Team

Serving Times: Weekly on Wednesday nights, August-May

The Worship Choir is a community of worshipers who desire to authentically and passionately lead the NMC congregation in worship.    

What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Practice music outside of rehearsals  
• Attend a yearly team training event    

Serving Times:  
• Sundays 8:00, 9:30, and/or 11:00 AM, weekly in the Worship Center (serving in all services is encouraged, but not mandatory)  
• Weekly rehearsal: Wednesdays, 6:45-8:00 PM
• August - May, the choir will sing on 10-12 Sundays
• Participate in two additional Worship Choir events (Christmas concert and spring concert)  
 
Requirements:  
• Have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ  
• Love singing  
• Have regularly attended NMC for at least six months

This worship band helps lead worship for Middle School Ministry students during Wednesday night programming (August-May).
   
What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Serve on the team when scheduled by worship leader(s)
• Use Dropbox to learn your week’s music and view chord charts
• Team members learn music on their own and come into rehearsal prepared to play their specific part

Serving Times:  
• 1-2 Wednesday nights every month during the school year (5:00 PM rehearsal, 6:45-7:15 PM worship programming)

• Have musical ability and a heart to lead others in worship

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys early mornings and serving in an important role behind-the-scenes. Often overlooked, this is one of the most crucial aspects of a Sunday morning and without it, we wouldn’t be able to have services.

What are the basic responsibilities?  
The role of the unlock/lockup is to serve the NMC body by having the building unlocked, lights on, and thermostats set, to make a warm hospitable environment for those who come through the doors on a Sunday morning.

This role provides assistance in the office during times when some extra hands are needed.

What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Various tasks as needed. For example: stuffing envelopes or bulletins, labeling, front desk/phone reception, special programs, etc.

Serving Times: 

• This team is placed on an “on-call” list. When an opportunity arises, you'll be notified and able to accept if it fits with your schedule.
• Serving opportunities will be during our regular office hours (8:30 AM-4:30 PM, Monday-Friday).

Middle School Ministry small group leaders provide a Christ-centered space for students to find belonging with a leader and peers.

What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Lead or co-lead a small group (8-10 students) on a weekly basis  
• One-on-ones with students  
• Attend students' events
• Have large-group hangouts  
• Attend three training meetings throughout the school year    

Serving Times:  
• Wednesdays 6:15-8:15 PM, weekly for one school year
• The responsibilities listed above take place outside of normal programming hours    

Requirements:  
• Must complete a background check  
• Must be 18 or older    

Additional Notes:  
• Training meetings are offered every semester  
• Emails are sent every week with guidance and ideas  
• Weekend retreat once a year

High School Ministry small group leaders provide a Christ-centered space for students to find belonging with a leader and peers.

• The responsibilities listed above take place outside of normal programming hours  
• Leading a group of seniors may require an additional time commitment

• Must complete a background check  
• Must be 18 or older

• Weekend retreat once a year

This role provides a loving and safe environment for the children of our small group leaders (newborn-5th grade). The childcare volunteer cares for the kids before and after Wednesday night programming.
   
What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Provide supervision and direct care to children  
• Drop off and pick up children from their KidMin classrooms    

Serving Times: Wednesdays, 6:00-6:45 PM & 8:00-8:30 PM, weekly or every other week for one school year    

Requirements:  
• Must complete a background check  
• Must be 18 or older

The purpose of this ministry is to provide and teach the technical aspects of sound and lighting for Student Ministries.  
 
What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Run the sound/lighting board and various other forms of media  
• Teach students the ministry of technology (HSM only)    

Serving Times: Wednesdays 6:15-8:15 PM, weekly for one school year  
 
Requirements:  
• Skill or desire to learn the tech side of ministry  
• Must complete a background check  
• Must be 18 or older

The K-3 worship leader brings children to the heart of Jesus by leading high-energy worship and teaching them about a worshipful heart.
   
What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Choose and lead three worship songs with motions  
• Communicate song choices with the staff member in charge, and they'll make preparations  

Serving Times (August-May):  

• Sundays 9:30-9:45 AM, every other month 
• Sundays 11:00-11:30 AM, once or twice a month or weekly
• Wednesdays 6:45-7:15 PM

Requirements:

This role leads the older preschoolers in joyful worship songs and motions to give young learners the assurance of God’s love.  
 
What are the basic responsibilities?  

• Be the up-front presence during worship, leading the children in praise songs and motions 
• Teach early learners that praise is our gift to God

Serving Times:  

• Sundays, 9:30-10:00 AM, once or twice a month or every other month (August-July)   

Requirements:  
• Must complete a background check  
• Must be 18 or older

This is a team of spiritually-mature believers who provide a listening ear and intercessory prayer in the Worship Center services.
   
What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Be the first to respond to people who come to the altar for prayer  
• Be available at the front of the Worship Center at the end of service for prayer  
• Hold personal information in strict confidence  
• Be comfortable praying out loud with someone else  
• Be available to help the teaching pastor with prayer    

Serving Times: Sundays 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 AM, every other week  

This role provides basic information to guests so they feel comfortable navigating the NMC building, at peace, and informed about the services offered here.    

What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Provide information about restrooms, classrooms, and worship venues  
• Escort guests looking for rooms as needed    

Serving Times: Sundays before one service: 8:00, 9:30, or 11:00 AM, monthly    

Requirements: Must have a good understanding of the building’s layout and regular church programs

Ushers help create an atmosphere to give our guests the most effective worship service experience.    

What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Welcome guests and project a warm, approachable attitude  
• Offer bulletins  
• Help people find seats  
• Collect the offering in special services     

Serving Times: Sundays, 7:30-9:45 AM or 10:15 AM-12:00 PM

Safety Team volunteers respond to emergencies and help maintain a safe and secure environment for the congregation to grow and become fully committed disciples.
   
What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Patrol an assigned area  
• Provide leadership in emergency situations until help comes  
• De-escalate potentially difficult situations or conversations  
• Work with a team to create a safe environment
   
Serving Times:  
• Sundays, 8:00 AM-12:00 PM, monthly  
• Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 PM, every other month    

Requirements:  
• Must be observant and calm under pressure  
• Must be 18 years or older with a completed background check

Medical Team volunteers create a positive guest experience by responding quickly and professionally to medical emergencies.    

What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Monitor radio traffic for potential medical emergencies  
• Be familiar with NMC facilities, medical policies, medical aids, and supplies and equipment  
• Have ears open for medical emergencies    

Serving Times:  
• Sundays, 7:50 AM-9:15AM, 9:15-10:45 AM, or 10:45 AM-12:15 PM
• Wednesdays, 6:45-8:10 PM  
• Special services    

Requirements:  
• Have experience in the medical field  
• Have current CPR credentials
• Have the ability to diffuse life-threatening situations  
• Respond/provide care

Greeters make the first impression for all NMC guests. They help create a loving, warm, and welcoming atmosphere for those visiting our campus, whether they be first-time guests or regular attenders.

What are the basic responsibilities?  
• Welcome people with warmth as they enter the building  
• Be sensitive in recognizing visitors  
• Help direct and orient visitors to the building
